Mix It Up
Art class was just beginning. Today, the Club Crew could make pictures of anything they wanted! Jars of beautiful colors of paint sat on the table.
"I want to make a blue jay," Molly said happily. "Well, too bad!" said Matt. He shoved Molly and grabbed the only jar of blue paint. "I'm making a lake!"
Molly was sad. Sally was mad. "That Matt!" they said. "Squeak!" Pip piped in.
Pretty soon, Matt was muttering. Having only blue paint was...boring. His lake just looked like a blue circle. Sally's and Molly's painting had a yellow sun and bright red apples.
Matt felt jealous. He kicked the table. All the paint spilled, splittery splat! Rivers of red and yards of yellow and buckets of blue flowed together. Suddenly, there were all kinds of colors-green, orange, purple, and more!
Pip popped up on the table. He ran through the soupy mess. Then he ran across Matt's painting. Now orange dots looked like fish in the lake. Green patches looked like grass at the water's edge.
Molly and Sally laughed. Even Matt laughed. Pip was right. When you share and work together, it's a pretty picture.
